Diagnostics Services
Pathology
SMH is offering full spectrum of hematology, chemical pathology, microbiological (bio-safety level II), histopathology and special chemistry tests.
Standard quality indicators of clinical pathology services are rigorously and frequently monitored, and corrective measures are taken when required. Procedures and guidelines are being developed to comply with local and international standards like JCI.
Radiology
Along with pathological lab services, radiology is one of the most effective diagnostic tools available to physicians. SMH radiology department is equipped with the following state-of-the-art machines:
• CT Scan: 160 slice CT scan- CT (computed tomography) represents the next step in imaging. This advanced imaging method makes CT scans much faster and more accurate than ever before. Saleem Memorial Hospital utilizes nothing but the best machinery to ensure timely diagnosis.
• Mammography: Mammography is specialized medical imaging that uses a low-dose x-ray system to see inside the breasts. A mammography exam, called a mammogram, aids in the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases in women.
• Ultrasound-Ultrasound: Ultrasound-Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic technique used to image inside the body. Ultrasound probes, called transducers, produce sound waves that have frequencies above the threshold of human hearing (above 20KHz). At Saleem Memorial Hospital we have acquired the latest ultrasound machines that ensure prompt and accurate diagnosis.
• X-rays: X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation, similar to visible light. Unlike light, however, x-rays have higher energy and can pass through most objects, including the body. Saleem Memorial Hospital has procured the latest and most efficient X-Ray machines to ensure quick and accurate diagnosis every time.
• Digital Radiology
• Portable Radiography
At SMH, medical imaging services are entirely digitalized, doing away with media-based presentation, speeding up data access and saving valuable patient and physician time, especially in an emergency.
The construction and installation of the current phase of our radiological and digital toolkit has been completed. The following services are anticipated to be introduced and made operational, further strengthening the current offerings:
• MRI Scan
• Gamma Camera
• Fluoroscopy
