Dr. Asim Riaz

About the Physician:

Dr. Asim Riaz, a graduate of Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, trained in Internal medicine in Ireland and secured Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. This was followed by Cardiology Training leading to certification. During his training, he did Masters in Clinical Cardiology from Trinity College, University of Dublin, and completed a thesis related to Therapeutic Hypothermia in Post VT/VF Cardiac arrest patients. This work as well as his other research work was published in reputed peer-reviewed journals. After certification in Cardiology, he went to Hamilton in New Zealand to complete a 1-year Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology. Subsequently, he took up a substantive post in NHS England as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Lead Cardiovascular Research. He was awarded Fellowships by the Royal Colleges of Physicians of Ireland and Edinburgh. His areas of interest are acute coronary syndromes and coronary intervention. He is a visiting Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Saleem Memorial Trust Hospital Lahore.
