Post Graduate Medical Institute - Paediatrics

 The Department of Paediatrics at Saleem Memorial Hospital, Lahore, is a CPSP-approved postgraduate training department for FCPS-II in Paediatrics.

The department is dedicated to delivering comprehensive paediatric healthcare services while maintaining high academic and clinical training standards in accordance with CPSP guidelines.

Under the supervision of Dr. Tayyaba Noor, the department ensures structured clinical exposure, academic mentorship, and competency-based training for postgraduate residents.

The Department of Paediatrics provides a wide range of healthcare services for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, including:

●  Outpatient paediatric consultations
●  Inpatient paediatric care
●  Neonatal assessment and NICU care
●  Management of acute and chronic paediatric illnesses
●  Growth and developmental assessment
●  Immunization and preventive healthcare services
●  Paediatric emergency care

The department manages diverse and complex paediatric cases, ensuring trainees gain extensive hands-on clinical experience.
As an accredited CPSP training center, the department offers structured FCPS-II training in Paediatrics, including:

●  Supervised clinical rotations as per CPSP curriculum
●  Regular academic sessions:
1. Case presentations
2. Journal clubs
3. Morbidity & mortality meetings
4. Clinical case discussions
5. Research supervision and dissertation guidance

Trainees are actively involved in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, emergency calls, and neonatal care under consultant supervision to develop independent clinical judgment and procedural competence

FCPS Part-II Training according to CPSP timetable will start twice a year in July & January. The enlistment of Post Graduate Residents will be done against number of Training spaces with kind proposal of commendable administrator.
