Diabetic Foot and Ankle Summit: Advancing Patient care

Saleem Memorial Hospital, in collaboration with Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital and the POA Foot & Ankle Forum, successfully hosted the Diabetic Foot and Ankle Summit on 14th July 2025. This full-day event brought together national and international experts in orthopaedics, podiatry, and diabetic foot care for a rich exchange of clinical knowledge and experience.

The summit featured expert-led sessions on managing diabetic foot infections, vascular interventions, orthotic strategies, surgical decision-making, and wound care innovations. A special hands-on Saw Bone Demonstration was conducted by Dr. Saad Ilyas, showcasing advanced techniques like Tibio-talo-calcaneal arthrodesis, ankle fusion, and midfoot reconstruction.

The event provided valuable academic insights, fostered cross-disciplinary collaboration, and underscored the importance of evidence-based approaches in diabetic limb management.
